Portrait of two men wearing work safety uniform standing in front of a tuck at George Dickel Whiskey Distillery in Tennessee | Chicago, Nashville, reportage, industrial, brand story, liquor, editorial photographer, photojournalist
Two fellow workers take a break after filling whisky barrels. George Dickel distillery, at the time of this commission, had fewer than 25 people responsible for its small batch hand-crafted barrel-aged whisky. At larger distilleries, pouring and dumping, cooking, and bottling are done simultaneously. Here, pouring and dumping happened on alternate days, and other days included mowing and groundskeeping.
